		<description>GM is behind in the conventional hybrid market. They missed the boat on that one. The technology on the plug-in hybrids is a lot trickier. My understanding is that the problems that take time involve perfecting the battery system. Another consideration is the fact that the Volt will be a mass production vehicle.

The Tesla folks are making a lot of noise in this space but they aren&#039;t mass producing the vehicle. And every car they deliver this year will need a new transmission in less than a year.</description>
