Fuel Cell Advocate Has Hydrogen Hopes “Geoffrey Holland, the co-author of a primer on hydrogen technology, says it wouldn’t cost that much for Oregon to begin developing hydrogen filling stations, starting with one or two in the Portland area.”
GM’s Fuel-Cell Car Makes A Statement “Today G.M. is introducing a zero-emission Cadillac crossover vehicle concept, called the Provoq, that runs on hydrogen fuel cells and batteries rather than gasoline.”
Major Net Energy Gain From Switchgrass-based Ethanol “Switchgrass grown for biofuel production produced 540 percent more energy than needed to grow, harvest and process it into cellulosic ethanol, according to estimates from a large on-farm study by researchers at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.”
Size Matters “The wind industry’s new mantra: Mine is bigger than yours. It must be a Texas thing. Italy’s Enel SpA and GE Energy Financial Services just finished a wind farm in Snyder, TX, that boasts the tallest turbines in the U.S. The massive towers soar 345 feet to take advantage of higher sustained wind speeds at altitude.”
